The purpose of work-shares is to offset the cost of your weekly food budget as well as get the community actively involved in the growing of their food. If you are part of the work-share program you a valuable asset to the farm. We depend on you to help us get our product to table.

Once you are accepted into the work-share program you are scheduled 1 month in advance with a 6-month commitment. The scheduling calendar will be posted in the office and you are expected to keep it current. Workdays are flexible but harvest work is very time sensitive and requires reliable attendance. If you are unable to make it we expect to know in advance. We plan tasks accordingly and workers are not simply interchangeable.
The concept is for people to spread their work over the course of 6 months and not to fulfill the hours as quickly as possible. We are counting on these working shares to help take some of the burden off of the regular farm workers. The minimum amount of time in one shift is 1 hour, you may work more but not less.
You must record your hours in the logbook; at the end of your season members will be billed $10/hr for all unworked hours. Failure to work required hours will result in you being denied a working share in the future.
Available shares and hours
There are 5 work shares available annually. You are required to work 6 hours per week. Hours must be completed during regular farm hours. If you are considering applying for a work share position we ask that you to come down to the farm and volunteer a few times and see if it is something that you would be interested in prior to applying.
